Wilson Tree Surgery Environmental Policy

Wilson Tree Surgery is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the environment and leading the industry in this regard. The company recognises the importance of acting on the climate emergency and is committed to doing it right.

Wilson Tree Surgery acknowledges the challenges ahead, including collecting accurate and meaningful activity data to evidence emissions and implementing meaningful reduction in footprint. But the company is committed to doing it right the first time.

Our short-term goal is to become Verified Carbon Neutral and we will initially be focussing our efforts on the accurate measurement of our emissions in all areas of activity, and then working closely with our partners to explore ways to put a reduction plan in place.

As a responsible business we plan to address the climate emergency and also to align ourselves with our key stakeholders’ visions and beliefs to achieve our long-term ambitions of Net Zero. In addition to our Net Zero commitments, we strive to support environmental initiatives in our community by always trying to find the closest available site teams to reduce transport times, planting trees in local areas and partnering with Countrystyle Recycling on litter picking initiatives. We welcome all of our partners and suppliers to join us on this important journey to Net Zero.

Key Commitments

Our impact so far

Tree Planting

Throughout the year, we focus on tree planting to remove Co2 in Britain. We want to work towards a positive environmental impact and continue to improve our sustainability initiatives.

Litter picking

Working outside in the British countryside all day, the team at Wilson’s are very aware of the litter problem in the UK. We see litter strewn along roads, in woodland and in our local parks.

This year, alongside Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean, we decided to get our team involved with litter picking in areas where we were working. We then carried on after the Spring Clean had finished, and continue to organise our own litter picking events.

Special thanks to Countrystyle Recycling who help us to dispose of all the litter.

Our Suppliers

We focus on working with suppliers who are aligned with our values and are committed to constantly improving their sustainability efforts.

Carbon Footprint

We aim to reduce our carbon footprint by using the most efficient routes for travel and the most appropriate vehicles for each job.

All our staff drive and operate locally to jobs,  minimizing fuel usage.

Petrol / Diesel Vehicles and tools are not left with the engines idling when not in use and for no longer than necessary. Where possible, we keep paper usage to a minimum and recycle any waste.
